Tyson Butler was part of the inaugural season of the Men’s Lacrosse team at Dakota Ridge. He scored the first goal in program history. Tyson was team captain his junior and senior year and was voted to several All Conference teams. Tyson also excelled academically. He completed the IB program and made academic all-state. He went on to play two years of lacrosse at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tyson made the decision to end his lacrosse career following multiple head injuries. He continued to pour himself into lacrosse by coaching youth camps and programs. Tyson was one of a kind and touched the people around him. He was an amazing leader, teammate and friend. 

This scholarship is awarded to the senior who best represents the memory of Tyson... His academic drive, love for the sport, and dedication to serving others through leadership and compassion.
